Storage Costs & Estimates

The cost of storage depends on the base price plus the extra options you choose. Included in the base price is electricity, insurance, security and pest control. It is important to consider carefully what extra options are actually required to protect your belongings before opting for them. You will pay more for temperature and humidity control and additional insurance coverage. Always inspect the storage facilities personally.

Storage Companies will give you a written estimate if requested. An estimate is arrived at by an inspection of the items to be stored. It is advisable to obtain at least 3 estimates in order to do a price comparison. However, you should not base your final choice on price alone. Generally the price reflects the level of service you will receive. Never accept an estimate by phone.

Any estimate should include:

Name, address and telephone number of the storage company
Address of actual storage location
Warehouse storage rate per unit
Minimum monthly storage charges
Minimum number of month’s storage
Charges for any storage preparation, padding or packing
Charges for any transportation
Charges for additional options
Charges for additional insurance
