Moving Day - Moving In

The driver will contact you prior to the expected arrival time in order for you to begin preparation for unloading. It is your responsibility to contact the destination agent if you cannot be reached by the driver.

Make yourself available or designate a representative to instruct the movers where to place your furniture while unloading.

If you wish to have your goods unpacked, this service must be booked in advance. Only limited unpacking and removal of cartons may be requested on move in day.

You or your designate are to accept delivery, pay the charges, note any change in the condition of your possessions listed on the inventory sheet at the time of loading, and also note any missing items.

When you sign the inventory sheet, you are acknowledging the receipt of all listed items. Document any loss or damage on the inventory sheet and immediately report this to the moving agent at your destination. Make sure you have your reference number.

Carefully review and sign the bill of lading. Keep your copy along with the inventory list in a safe place until all charges have been paid and all claims (if any) have been settled.

Unless other arrangements were made in advance, payment is required upon delivery in cash, traveler’s checks, money order or cashier’s check. Personal checks are not accepted.

Do not use your stereos, computers, televisions, other electronic devices and appliances for 24 hours after delivery to prevent possible damage. They must adjust to room temperature.

Verify that all utilities have been disconnected in your old home and connected in your new home.

Have your phone connected a day before move in day.
